 The Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine

 

The Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory MedicineThe Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine is the professional body for Medical Scientists and professionals working in Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine in Ireland. The Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine, (ACSLM) was founded in 1974. Since that time its membership has grown to its present strength of approximately 1500. It is the academic body for Medical Scientists in Ireland. In 1996 it was appointed as the designated authority to evaluate the education and training necessary to practice medical laboratory science in Ireland. In November 2014, the Academy changed its name to the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine (formerly the Academy of Medical Laboratory Science). The new name reflects the changing focus of the profession and diversity of roles in the wider Healthcare environments, Research and Development and within the Laboratory.
